Latin American Studies students will be able to thoughtfully analyze historical and cultural artifacts, understand basic methodologies of humanities and social science research, and write persuasively about topics, questions, and arguments relating to significant historical events or cultural moments in Latin America.

Latin American students will develop empathy, love, and respect for God's children by gaining competency in and a lively appreciation of the history, culture, and politics of Latin American societies, as well as advanced proficiency in at least one of the major languages of the region.
