Title

Historical and Social Impact of Theatre

Learning Outcome

Students will interpret the historical, social, and spiritual aspects of theatre—bathed in the light and color of the restored gospel—to expand their capacity for critical analysis, deepen their appreciation for communities of belonging, and cultivate insight that will inform their craft and their service.

Title

Personal Growth

Learning Outcome

Students will develop their BYU dual heritage by acquiring business skills, compiling personal resources to sustain a healthy self-image, and deepening faith in Christ to pursue individual creativity and innovation in their craft, endure the rigors of the entertainment industry, and live a lifetime of learning and service.

Program Requirements

This major is a limited enrollment program designed to prepare students to become professional artists and/or to pursue post-graduate degrees in the field. It is a highly competitive major; admission is by audition. Additionally, admitted students are required to meet progressively higher proficiency expectations each semester. If students do not meet proficiency expectations, they will be placed on program probation. Students placed on probation 3 times may be dismissed from the degree program.
